Background of the Establishment of the Faculty & Study Program
The Beginning of the Establishment
The Faculty of Marine and Fisheries (FKP) is the youngest Faculty at Udayana University (UNUD). This establishment is in line with the socio-geographical conditions of Indonesia, which is mostly a water area. FKP was established to ensure equitable educational opportunities, improve quality as well as relevance and efficiency of education management to face local, national, and global challenges, as an effort to help educate and improve the quality of human resources through the higher education sector.

October 10, 2011
The establishment of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries as a Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) based on the Decree (SK) of the Rector of Udayana University Number: 680/UN.14/HK/2011.
Year 2013
The issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 81/E/O/2013 which officially ratified the establishment of the Fishery/Aquatic Resource Management Study Program (MSP).
Years 2016 - 2017
The establishment of FKP and the MSP Study Program was further strengthened by the issuance of Permenristekdikti No. 30 of 2016 concerning the Organization and Work Procedure of Udayana University and Permenristekdikti No. 34 of 2017 concerning the Statute of Udayana University.
Objectives of the Study Program Establishment
Maritime-Based National Development
Preparing human resources who have academic abilities in the field of marine and fisheries science as a follow-up to Indonesia's role as a maritime nation.
Fulfillment of the Need for Graduates
An effort to respond to and accelerate the fulfillment of the need for competent fisheries and marine graduates, especially in the Eastern Indonesia Region.
Aquatic Resource Management
Creating human resources capable of managing and cultivating Indonesia's vast freshwater, coastal, and marine resources and competing in the modern era.
Increasing National Competitiveness
Improving the quality of the nation's resources and national competitiveness by balancing economic development with the development of the fisheries sector.
